Volunteer Opportunities

The Trout Museum of Art relies upon the help of hundreds of volunteers each year who assist us in a number of different capacities. Volunteers help The Trout Museum of Art organize and orchestrate our many special events, install exhibitions, assist with tours, provide clerical support and much more. The Trout Museum of Art would not be able to operate without the generous individuals who donate their time each year.

If you are interested in volunteering in a fun and creative atmosphere, we can always use your help.

The Gallery Volunteer Program is a regular assignment of volunteer time at the Trout Museum of Art.  This program greatly increases our connection to visitors and helps us ensure they have a positive experience.  Gallery Volunteers will have two main project areas: assisting at the front desk and giving tours to visitors.  Additional projects may be given to complete dependant on individual skills and interests.

Each shift will cover a three hour block.  We ask for a commitment to attend training sessions and approximately 3 shifts a month for the next three months.  This commitment from our volunteers assures continuity for the museum and our visitors.

If you have any questions regarding the program or would like to request an application, please contact Rebecca Zornow at rzornow@troutmuseum.org

Currently Seeking Docents:

If you enjoy meeting and talking with new people and want to get more connected with the arts, please consider becoming a docent at The Trout Museum of Art. Docents lead gallery tours to the visiting public and educational groups. Although formal art experience is beneficial, it is not necessary; the museum provides training for each exhibition and gives helpful tips for conducting tours. The museum relies on the help of docents each week as an important piece of our presentation of quality art education and exhibitions to our community.
