Past Exhibit: Plein Air: Artist's Invitation to Appleton Farm Market

The Trout Museum of Art invites artists to document the farm market of downtown Appleton by hosting an end of the summer exhibit.

Every Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. to noon, the Appleton Farm Market is exploding with sights, sounds, colors, and smells ... come and capture the essence. Artists must register each day they plan to paint at the Farm Market to receive the appropriate badges allowing them to participate in the project. Weather permitting, registration and sign-in begins at 8:00 a.m. at the entrance of The Trout Museum of Art. After 10:00 a.m., artists may register with a Visitor Services Associate inside the museum. A display easel outside the museum entrance will display your name and painting location. No direct (on-site) selling is permitted without vendor permits from ADI.

Exhibit Date: Sept. 24, during Octoberfest

Deliver Artwork: Sept. 23, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Artists may submit up to two works of art for the exhibition. Framed work, wired and ready for hanging, will be displayed in the museum vestibule on a first-come, first-served basis. A prospectus for the exhibit will be available at the registration desk. A 35% commission of work sold will go to The Trout Museum of Art. All artwork must be labeled on the back with: artist‘s name, title of work, price, and phone number. Labels can be picked-up at the museum during the Farm Market or on the day you drop off your work. Artists will also be required to complete a loan agreement form prior to submitting works for display.

The Trout Museum of Art reviews all submissions and reserves the right to excluded any works that do not meet exhibition criteria, stated or otherwise.
